US Senior Pickleball Zone Directors

Zone Directors

Zone Directors are key to organizing and supporting pickleball tournaments in their areas. They work to plan and oversee events, including local circuit tournaments, zone championships, and national-level
competitions for US Senior Pickleball (USSP).

These directors team up with Tournament Directors to ensure everything runs smoothly. They help with planning, answer questions, and make sure tournaments follow USSP guidelines. If you’re hosting or playing in an event, your Zone Director is there to help.

Have questions or need help? Contact your Zone Director for assistance with tournaments or procedures. They’re here to make every event a success!

Marcee Topp

Northwest Zone Director

Marcee is originally from Montana and has lived up and down the west side of the continent, from Alaska to Arizona including nearly ten years in British Columbia. Pickleball took over in 2016 when she lived in southern California on a golf course. She loves golf but suddenly really loved pickleball even more!

Moving to Washington state in 2018 brought about a temporary curtailing of her pickleball life due to weather, COVID and an injury. So she got her USA Pickleball referee credentials, and traveled to tournaments in WA and OR.

In 2023 Marcee started working for Pickleball is Great coordinating referees and being part of a team running some large tournament such as Huntsman World Senior Games, USSP Nationals and large tournaments of 500+ players. In 2024 she set the goal of playing in at least one tournament a month and working and playing more tournaments with seniors. This led her to US Senior pickleball, where she is thrilled to land.

Doug retired in 2021 and was introduced to pickleball by his wife, Roxanne, who signed him up for lessons at their local Rec Center in NW Arkansas.  He was hooked after his first lesson!  He now plays 4-5 times per week and tries to enter at least one tournament each month. Stavig has successfully directed several of his own tournaments and has run tournaments for several other organizations and nonprofits, and he is also a pickleball instructor.

Stavig is the most decorated ambassador in US Senior Pickleball history and has brought more than 600 new members to USSP in 2024 alone! With his enthusiasm and can-do attitude, Stavig joyfully introduces countless seniors to the sport that he has become so passionate about.

Jen Johnson

Southeast Zone Director

Jen is originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and has lived predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic region in a variety of ACC college towns. Previously, she was a scratch golfer, a basketball official, and if there was a sport with a ball, Jen probably played it. When she found pickleball in 2012, before it was cool, all of her other sports took a back seat.
Jen is an avid pickleball player and has played in quite a few countries where they are trying to grow the sport. Just last year, she played in Malta, Estonia, Hungary, Austria, The Netherlands internationally, and even more venues here in the USA. Her current passion is to play in events that make a social difference. She is truly dedicated to growing the sport, memberships and venues for Pickleball.
Jen is really happy to have a position at US Senior Pickleball, especially as she approaches retirement. She believes US Senior Pickleball is a great organization dedicated to helping players stay active, building great communities, and ensuring all types of pickleball players have a home even if they don’t play tournaments.
